It would have been nicer if the NYT had mentioned it. They didn't.

Pls let me know of any US media, that covered Aus elections in detail. I read/watch US media for US issues, Aus media for Aus issues etc. It is naive to expect a foreign media outlet to cover such issues to the same depth as native media.

The importance of the Australian elections may be it sends a signal to terrorists that attacking, prior to the election, would work agains their interests in the U.S.
