But Howard's win - did that change the content of the NYT article? What do you think? Is the Pope Catholic? of course it did. Thee NYT was setting up the Howard-loses-because-of-the-dreadful-burden-of-Iraq article on Oct 7th, you could see it. It didn't matter if it was true, they didn't burden themselves with a lot of Aussie fact-checking. Had Howard lost, we would have heard all about Iraq as the only conceivable reason. But he didn't lose, so they figure Iraq must not have been important. No need for fact-checking there either.
