Halcion is now banned in many countries...too short a half life. Impossible to get off of.

Its not the personality really, its quite dependant on how a persons neurotransmitters and receptor sites react to the drugs. Addiction is not really a proper definition of what happens to a person who gets hooked on them Since they alter the receptors, a person becomes physically dependant on them and that is FAR FAR worse than an "addiction". Very few people ever crave benzos, but like anti-depressants they cannot function at all without them because of severe immediate (within days) rebound withdrawals. Most people who are hooked NEVER would like to see another one as long as they live in they could only manage the damage these drugs do to them.
