Carranza, re: Because Sadddam had no WMD, or none we've found yet, he would have kicked out the inspectors rather than have the inspectors determine that he didn't have any.

Great, now you're joining Duelfer and becoming a psychic.

You can say it but that doesn't mean it's true. The facts are that Saddam did NOT kick out the inspectors. Saddam Hussein allowed them in and allowed them extremely free access. When the inspectors came back and told us that our intelligence wasn't panning out, then WE told the inspectors to get out so we could invade.

Creativity is a good thing when you're writing fiction but when our men are dying in Iraq, we owe it to them to stick to the facts and the logical progressions that flow from those facts.

Carranza: I completely agree with your assessment. Saddam had to maintain a facade of evil to keep his enemies at bay. His game of cat and mouse with the US weapons inspectors was an amazing game of liar's poker. He didn't even have a dollar bill to call his bets. It is amazing that he stayed in the game as long as he did.

How was Bush to react to this level of tomfoolery? It gave Bush the opening he needed to press Congress for a declaration of war and he got it. I just can't understand why everyone has such a difficult time accepting the success of this war. The press has us believing that Bush should be blamed every time a rebel under al Sadr bombs another hotel or busstop.

I don't think Saddam thought the US would show the audacity requried to physically remove him from power. Did we trample all over international law and constiutional amendments in the process? I am certain that Bush and Cheney violated the spirit of civil law in many regards. However, military law is much different than civil law. W's administration pressed the edges of military law to conduct their military policy once it was approved by Kerry and the rest of Congress.

The only reason that Kerry is critical of Bush's Iraq policy today is that he is trying to get himself elected. Same with all of the liberals that want there pseudo JFK back in the oval office. Good luck to everyone, elections are only a month away. It seems like this country will surely tear itself apart before Election Day. We got through a much worse time following the last election. We will get through this one too!!
