It would have been a disaster for Hector to say otherwise. I've never heard either company say "we see increased competition in the upcoming quarter because of the competitions inventory buildup". It is a unique situation that will probably impact AMD on the low-end and in flash but every little bit is a big deal when your profits are 'only' ~$50 million/quarter.
