"Crony-in-Chief Cheney is still on the Hal payroll through deferred salary and has $400K in stock options through them. He's still in a STRONG conflict of interest position. Cheney has interfered in awarding contracts and he directly benefits in income and capital gains.

Spin & not accurate.

Deferred salary is money that Cheney has already earned but chose to paid in timed-increments. He would be receiving the same exact payments even if he'd not be in the WH. Spin.

He has $18 million in stock options, not $400K. He has publicly proclaimed to donate the proceeds, if exercised, to charity.

Halliburon has been a really crappy stock. It's overpriced now. It can't beat the indexes and those have been nothing to shout about. I don't see the oft-repeated windfall to these contracts & graft. (as you put it)

Halliburton was originally awarded a no-bid contract because they have expertise in extinguishing oil well fires.

I am sure you know better, but you like to lie a bit. Halliburton, in case you don't know, is an oil service company. One division extinguishes oil well fires, one of the best in the world at it. They have a dozen other divisions each performing a singular function, also the very best. They did not receive a no-bid contract, but a pre bid contract by a law passed by the Clinton administration after the first Gulf War. Before the law it took Congress up 18 months to contract out items such as burning oil wells, repairs and other functions.. Very Stupid because each Senator/Congressman was more interested in gaining politicl favor power than what was good for the US. New contracts are THEN CONCEIVED and bidded out. If Halliburton won again it was because the DOD and OMB chose their bid. Bechtel and Halliburton are two of the biggest recipients of contracts for several reasons. They have been working in the ME for over75 years and have the greatest experience. They are two of the few companies that have in the area all the necessary pre-positioned equipment and manpower skills to do the job. I understand there is a company by the name of Colliers that seems to have obtained some sort of no-bid contract in Vietnam, seems this outfit is related to Hanoi John. They are not going to 'Nam to find KIA or POW"s Kerry convinced our governmnet to forget about.
