Good, then let's not hear your all too common answer that we should "defer" to the wisdom of those in our government who must "know more than we do."

My only point was that if we are to make the decisions in this democracy we must critically examine the decisions of our government, make judgements on the best information we have, and influence policy. If our government thinks we are wrong then let it give us more information. But let's not let it tell us to "trust" them because they "know things we don't." That, to me, means that we should never "defer" to the wisdom of those currently in power to make important policy decisions on critical issues like war and peace. We should make them present their case with facts and logic.

And yes, you do make important contributions; just not on that deference insistence.
