I'd be happy to have those people refer to themselves as Leftists, and I would oblige and call them that as well. We can start with Ed, and see if he likes the label.

For my part, I'm happy to call myself a conservative, in fact, a very conservative person on some issues (and actually very liberal on others). But my first requirement is self-government, true democracy, and my second is the protection of property under the law.
