ab,

I am opposed to the death penalty because too many mistakes happen and the process is irreversible

Abortion and euthanasia are also irreversible.

A consistent moral argument is to be against all of these.

To get all high and mighty about one and not the others is pretty inconsistent - both from a logical and moral standpoint.

To defend 'E's position would be to invite 3rd trimester last hour abortions - since you couldn't force anyone to gestate one second longer than they feel comfortable with.

This carries over to stem cell research. If you buy the argument on embryonic stem cells - then next year I will want human cloning - it can replace organs. It can 'cure' my wife and you 'ethic' police are preventing us from obtaining it.

It will happen.
