I believe that Kerry, in his 20 years in the senate, has voted for every military downsizing, base closure and weapons reduction bill presented. It's only natural that he'd want to do the opposite mow, I guess. Kerry is an intelligent person. He is well educated and well read. He has applied himself academically and he loves his country as much as you do. He will do what is necessary to make us safer at home and stronger abroad. He has to command a military establishment within sensible budget constraints. If we go bankrupt, there will be nothing for our military to defend. If we have to beg the Japanese and Chinese to lend us money, we will be in trouble.
