I paid 2.69 for premium yesterday. I expect a leap to near 3 shortly after the election.

Sounds plausible. It seems we have several people looking at the current price of oil vs. the current price of gas.

I need to look around the net for a site that compares taxes on gasoline by state [US]. I've looked before but haven't had any success. If anyone knows of one let me know. TIA.

$3/gal gas before 11/2? Ride a bike and have a Starbucks coffeee drinks instead.

That should make things even more interesting for oil-profiteer Bush, especially if cold weather sets in and people see their new heating bills (up maybe by 1/3rd in the NE).
