inside Iraq, we will see in the next four weeks if the level of violence escalates whether govt officials are targeted unsure really what Al Qaeda would like to see in US elections on that point it is only guesswork excllent NYorker article which certainly was the "view from the left" I am continually amazed at how this Bushy is insulting the intelligence of so large a slice of Americans yet they still support him like my own WW2 veteran father somehow he regards lack of Bushy support as insubordination since we are at war regardless of why or where we are at war much of Bushy support might come from a perverse source most Americnas are not political, so they trust the leader and hesitate to boot him out unless serious errors or decline they just dont see the decline THE USA IS AN INSULATED SOCIETY, FULL OF DUMBASSES they cannot seriously assess the economy for sure they dont like outsourcing since jobs are lost they cannot seriously assess the European diplomatic damage since they already hate the French they cannot seriously assess the fractures to NATO foundation because NATO was very anything they fought for, age issue / jim
