I think I did get the point of your post, but I thought I would add to it by underscoring the fact that Reeves's family deserves to be kept out of the political fray if only because it is elementary good manners to not make a political point while a family grieves.

If W's team had said expressed anything other than simple condolences, I would think/hope I would have made the same point.

But back to your post, yes, I completely agree that there is a whole lot of reflexive posturing in this election and not enough reflection. I think most of the electorate is sick of the indiscriminate vilification of the opposition by both sides. I know I am, and it applies to both sides. Except for a few minutes at the end, I could hardly watch the last debate. Probably won't tune in for tomorrow's.

Yup, sick of it.

Edit:

After seeing my original post, I can see why you thought I might have been condemning the Dems for Kerry's alleged lie, which appears to not be a lie or at least not provable as such. But I was motivated instead by the documented comment Edwards made, shown at Drudge, which is in my view almost ghoulish and really, really in bad taste.

<<and found NO statment that backed up a coma on Thurs, nothing that would preclude an early call to Kerry on Sat.>>

From what I've seen, people who are so sick from an infection that they will be going into a coma and die usually don't chat on the phone. Even if he didn't go into a coma until Sat. night I doubt he called.

BTW, I don't have much hope for the stem cells being the answer for spinal cord injuries. Even if a new spinal column there is no way to remove the damaged part and wire in a new section. If there was a way to inline connect nerves a new section wouldn't be needed.
