Stem cells, lots of hoopla about them. There are 3 sources of stem cells.

1. Those from embryos. This is the source that gets most of the yada blah. Still waiting to see what they cure.

2. Stem cells from the blood in umbilical cords. Easily gotten from the umbilical cord after the baby is born. 99% of them are destroyed as medical waste now. There has been some success in fighting medical problems with these cells.

3. Your own stem cells in your bone marrow. Now these puppies have the most promise. They have YOUR DNA. Starting to be used in fighting leukemia. I read an article in Reader's Digest where they have now been used to repair damaged heart sections.
