I just had a thought. What was the reason behind the UN sanctions against Iraq? I know -some how- that they started in 1991 but what was the reason for their imposition?

I totally agree the problem is that the average person is working very hard to try to make a living and elections are media driven.

Looking out towards the future we cannot continue to act as an aggressor more decisions have to be made through the UN. You can't halt growth once it has started and it has started for the Eastern end of the world.

Economics change and politicians and subsequent net works seeking a larger division of the pie also changes.
