Can you understand the difference between rational thought and action and irrational belligerence and incompetence? Now that Iraq has gone to hell in a handbasket, it's interesting how Bush is blaming everyone else BUT HIMSELF. Bush's debate tactic: 'be polite while keeping my foot on Kerry's neck' ---- that's what he's actually telling his BASE of ultrawealthy people. Rational thought: - President Bush 41 didn't go into Baghdad and didn't topple Saddam. He understood the consequences of it. - Powell talked about the Pottery Barn rule: 'if you break it you own it.' Bush, therefore, wanted to OWN Iraq not liberate it. - Clinton had the ILA but it had only $97 million in funding and DID NOT talk of armed invasion. It talked of training and helping democracy in Iraq. - Saddam was about containment, sanctions, inspections, constant vigilence and the expectation that tyranny does not last forever when there's money to be made. BUSH and supporters' irrational thoughts and outright lies: - Saddam's WMDs can be up and hitting targets within 45 minutes. - Saddam is going to launch drones from tramp steamers onto America's eastern seaboard. - Saddam has reconstituted his nuclear weapons program with alumnium tubes for centrifuges and yellowcake from Africa. - Saddam is responsible for 911 and harbors lots of terrorists in his country (unbelievably 60% of Republicans still believe this outright lie). - Saddam is an imminent threat who must be preemptively taken out to prevent nuclear bombs from going off in America. =========== Of course, the rational have been PROVEN true by Bush's own inspectors: Kay AND Duelfer. OOoops!
