Taking it day by day jpg. I keep pushing it hard & I'm making
steady, albeit slow progress.

It's going slowly because they can't do surgery on my ankle
until I make significant progress with my knee. And that's a
catch 22. Progress with my knee is significantly hampered due
to the torn tendons in my ankle.

I had a setback Saturday. My ankle became significantly more
swollen & painful. Walking was a real chore. Still is.

However, in the last couple of weeks, I have been able to do
a number of things that had been impossible since the injury.
I actually walked up the steps when we returned from therapy
(leading with my left leg all the way of course). It was
scary & painful, but I was quite pleased with mice elf when I
accomplished the task.

I started to do exercises that involve mild exertion of my
knee this week. Yumpin' yiminee! That's a tough row to hoe.

I walked the 50 or so feet into therapy on crutches, rather
than use the wheelchair for the first time last week. And I
was able to make it back to the car afterwards too. That
really takes the last ounce of energy to do it, but I am
quite pleased to finally accomplish that goal.

With significant external force applied to my knee, it now
bends a full 90º. According to my ortho doc & my therapist,
that is a major milestone. I will continued to be tortured,
'er receive therapy until it reaches 110º to 120º with little
or no external force applied.

I now can do bathroom duty all by mice elf too. My dignity
has been returned.

:-)
