Nope, but I think I can make a better educated guess than you because I'm more in tune with him than you are.

And I really, really don't like what he did to this county after he returned from VN. I honestly believe he acted in a treasonaous manner.

I don't have an opinion on that. I was pretty oblivious to the anti-war movement at that time. My husband was serving and we hung with military people, particularly when we lived on base. I had no contact with the movement so I never formed an opinion. I don't think the idea of what he did was wrong--he was trying to stop the war--but some particular behaviors or statements may have crossed the line. I think that diminishing those who served honorably is unacceptable. To what extent he did that and to what extent the perception is over-sensitivity on the part of the returnees, I don't know. It's just not an area I've studied well enough to assert an opinion.
