According to the interviewee, an electronics specialist who is expert in such devices, there is no wire at all coming out of the ear, because it's some sort of radio device. A little thing goes inside the ear. No wires attach it to the unit on his back.

The size of the very pronounced verticle ridge is, he says, explained by the necessity for a descrambler.

With MicroEar VHF reception is possible up to several kilometers, without the necessity for any external equipment (nothing outside the ear). MicroEar VHF offers a new dimension in lightness, flexibility and absolute discretion.

That doesn't say anything about a descrambler.

What do you think the verticle ridge is that shows very clearly in the photograph of him in a tee shirt and of the several showing in the back of his suit?
