More like the end of the "war babies", or the "FDR babies". My college roommates had/ are having theirs this year, too. We're the surfers on the tidal wave of retiring boomers :-)

This morning I'm listening to James Taylor's October Road CD and I'm doing some reflecting...The Debates this year were good for the challenger...

Debate #1 - It showed such a difference in performance.

Debate #2 - Kerry won by a slight margin -- yet I feel he connected with the audience in a more genuine way.

Debate #3 - Kerry was strong, Presidential, and in command of the facts...I feel it was a decisive win for Kerry...I also watched the debate with some lifelong Republicans -- they were all impressed with his performance and 3 out of 4 of them said they would be voting for Kerry...There is a strong feeling in the Midwest that this country is on "the wrong track" and we need a new leader to inspire America to become the country it was meant to be....I agree with David Gergen (from Harvard's Kennedy School) who claims that the debates have clearly changed the dynamics of the Presidential race -- Kerry has improved his standing with women by almost 20% in the last 10 days...The debates established Kerry as a strong, credible alternative to Bush -- this should sink in more in the next few days...watch the swing state polls carefully...I expect that Kerry will get a bounce and build more momentum...Yet, our next President will be decided by the party with the best turnout...The Democrats have never been this energized and organized in my lifetime...Finally, I think A LOT of swing voters will ultimately vote for Kerry (this is after they do 'a gut check' and realize they can not take 4 more years of the type of leadership we have had under the Bush Administration).
