Maybe they think that fundamentalists hate homosexuals so bad that they will hate Bush because Cheney's daughter is gay? Can they be that out of touch? Because pretty much everybody, including fundamentalists, knows someone who is gay, and they don't really mind that, as long as it's not shoved into their faces. There's the stereotypes in every small town - the gay hairdresser and the two plain career women who live together and are devoted to each other all their lives. Married men "coming out with the support of their wives" is a tough one. I feel so sorry for the wives. But some people who are really gay get married anyway because they really believe that they can change their preference. I don't see how, but then, it's not my life.
