Brother Bum,

Unfortunately I expect RRI to disappoint on operating earnings due mostly to cooler than normal weather in July and August in both Houston and the Northeast. RRI will have a very nice gain on the sale of it's hydro assets, but the market should have already factored that in.

I bought back in yesterday between 9.75 and 9.95. Looks like I'm at least a day early.

RRI typically under performs the two weeks prior to earnings, so I don't expect any help over the next two weeks.

RRI could also be getting hurt from the melt down of CPN (which is well justified).

I had said I thought a good price to buy RRI would be about $9.80. It is still at $9.80 as of today. Price is sitting just above support and the momentum bands are heading down. I'm not in RRI as the message this one is linked to will confirm. However, for those who are, a close below the 50 day moving average would confirm lower prices and take us down to the $9.00-$8.50 range.

When you look at this chart, note the lower tails or shadows on the candlesticks over the last 4 or 5 days. What this is indicating is that the bears are trying to drive the price down and the bulls are showing up to push the price higher. This is actually bullish and could be hinting that a nice gap up day is coming.

If you'll go back to the beginning of September, you'll see the reverse occurred. You had lots of upper shadows which indicated that the bulls were trying to push prices higher and the bears met each and every challenge. The bears finally won out and we saw a nice drop.

Bias now is to the upside but watch those support levels.
