Your idea of morals do not square with the majority of the population. Really? As Bill Clinton's post Monica approval ratings indicated, the vast majority of Americans feel the moral thing to do is mind your own business when it comes to the private lives of other adults. The fear that someone who values life more than you might die because of your idealism saddens me greatly. Even one life is too much. If you and Bush value life so much and are willing to sacrifice some freedoms to prevent another terrorist attack, perhaps a starting point would be to continue the ban on assault weapons and requiring identification of gun purchasers at gun shows. Oh... last night Bush said DeLay said he didn't have the votes in a Republican Congress... The current proposals for re-importation do not solve the problem. You have a solution that doesn't require more government regulation? The American people do not want activist judges who will abridge the Constitution because they feel like it. We have to defend our way of life. "Activist" judges interpret the constitution broadly in ways that expand freedom - a word which conservatives LOVE to use but HATE when others actually practice the concept. Conservative judges say... "Oops, the constitution written 200 years ago doesn't specifically say you have that right. Sorry." So much for freedom.
