I appreciate your response. It's not fun to get smacked around when you're trying to have an honest, sincere dialogue. To a degree I bring some of it on myself. I joke around a lot on SI just for kicks - but I'm not stupid.

That article is interesting but its not surprising. I say that NOT because I want to slam Kerry but rather because I know the complexities involved with this issue. Health & Medicine is a macro issue. Ease of travel has made it so

A 1997 study published in the Journal of Law and Economics found that half the price difference between Canadian and U.S. drugs can be explained by the need to set aside reserves against litigation awards.

Mr. Kerry's running mate, Senator John Edwards, made his fortune suing doctors. He convinced juries many children with cerebral palsy would have been born healthy if only they had been delivered by C-section, despite the absence of any medical evidence supporting his argument. When it comes to health-care costs, Mr. Edwards is part of the problem.

I was wondering when someone would point that out. Setting the fox to guard the henouse?

And the article on Canadian drugs was good. It hardly makes sense to solve our problem by screwing our northern neighbor.
