"Soros believes that if he can force the market down, he will have an effect in the real world," Luskin says. "If it happens on Oct. 31, people might go into the voting booth with fear in their hearts.".....

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Billionaire George Soros has upped his ante to defeat President Bush in the coming election, announcing Thursday that he is spending $2 million on newspaper ads nationwide in the last month of the campaign.

Soros, who has already pledged $18 million to the anti-Bush groups MoveOn.org and America Coming Together, said he decided to spend the additional money after seeing how effectively the pro-Bush side had vilified Democrat John Kerry during the Republican National Convention and through the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth ads.

"That's what made me change my mind," he said.

Liberals love to shower Soros with respect, ignoring his Wall Street background, because his motives are so obviously honorable, and the money he is spending so clearly is going to "good" causes. But his life raises some troubling questions about the autonomy of capital in the era of globalization. Make enough money, and you don't have to obey anyone's rules.

Soros is considered by some to be a hero. He's Michael Milkin with less ethics but a better PR man.
Soros made his money manipulating markets and now he thinks he has the right to push his socialist agenda on the rest of the world. He hates America, hates the idea of competition because he made his fortune through inside deal-cutting, so he has no respect for free enterprise or this nation.
