He was a junior Senator from NC. Do you think someone like Cheney went out of his way to remember meetig him? Obviously, this was a debate tactic. Points were scored for the zinger, the follow up news reports are probably heard by less than 1/2 those listening to the debate. Point made for 20 plus million people. If you think both parties are not lying their butts off, then youare naive. Election stump speeches are phonies and not to be believed. Anything to get elected.
