Re: Saudi Arabia forces Ramadan on Non Muslims- The story is much like many of Kerrys lines. Partially true. I expect there is an agenda to denigrate the Saudis in it.

The facts are:Restaurants shut down during daylight hours during Ramadan (except in hotels where you can still get a meal.) I can get a meal in my Company cafeteria if I want.

Non Muslims are requested to not eat in public or do anything that may tempt the Saudis from breaking their fast or hurt their religious effort. This is nothing new and has been the same way for 20 years or so. It is a religous state, not a secular state like Turkey.

However, most of the Saudis I know have no problem with me eating or drinking or smoking etc.,as I am not Muslim and they do not expect me to act like one. There are some that would have a problem and more that would against foreign Asians as they are treated with less respect as a whole. If I eat or drink, it should be done privately out of respect for their fasting effort.

Regards

Neil
