Fat people have sued McDonald's for making them fat. The case was thrown out because the judge said there was no evidence of CORRELATION between McDonald's food and their weight gain. The next suit needs to make the CORRELATION.

Spurlock covers it (amusingly) on SuperSize Me, now out on DVD. It's a very interesting look at the sludge that McDonald's passes off as food. For goodness sakes, the french fries don't even disintegrate over time. Chemicals masquerading as taters.

I hope he does a followup. I'd really like to know how the guy who has ingested 19,000 BigMacs in his adult life (90% of his solid food intake) has an overall cholesterol level of 140.

I will bet you an entire box of Krispy Kreme sugar glazed nutrient empty cardboard doughnuts that there will be successful lawsuits against manufacturers (and advertisers) of sugary nutrient-empty foods especially those geared toward addicting children.

There just needs to be the smoking gun: an internal report that shows the manufacturer was well aware of the addicting effects of sugar and cartoons on toddlers and the effect of such diets on their future health. :)

A WHOLE box of Krispy Kremes.

If we want the cost of healthcare to GO DOWN, everyone needs to get and stay healthier for longer. That's the best cure for the financial burden of healthcare.
