Google is your friend: cepr.net Every nation in western Europe has experienced a dramatic rise in its unemployment rate between the 1960s and the 1980s and 1990s. The (unweighted) average unemployment rate for these countries in the 1960s was 1.9%. In the 1980s it had risen to 7.4%, and thus far in the 1990s the average has been 8.8%. A link for your allegation that Kerry wants to emulate European economies, and not European unemployment rates. I do know how to google that info but thanks for the thought.
