Personally, I would rather see universal subsidized child care for working women in certain income groups before there was a raise in minimum wage. But that isn't even on the table right now. What people who worry so much about creeping socialism don't realize is that there are good people who have bad things happen to them. Losing your job when you have small kids and no health insurance can be a killer.......literally. We are too wealthy a country to not provide some of the basics in life. ted
