It's the Repugnicans who want to keep Mary Cheney, a voluntarily "out" lesbian, in the closet - a Dem would be as PROUD of a gay daughter as any other daughter. That's what they want to hilight. The Repugnicans equate gayness with SHAME and parental failure.

I thought that it was improper when Edwards did it, talking to Cheney, and that with his response, Cheney wildly outclassed Edwards in that instance; and that it was indefensible when Kerry did it.

Boredom is of course a personal reaction. I see no evidence of Franken being an egomaniac, though. Whatever you think of his politics, he is clearly a nice, decent person, and not a bully, and O'Reilly is an echt bully: This is O'Reilly, if this is the transcript of a phonecall it appears to be, and so far O'Reilly's lawyers have said he hasn't broken the law, not that there are no such taped phonecalls.
