People fighting for their freedom and to defend their own soil are different from people fighting to subjugate other people. We could not defeat the Vietnamese because we could not break their will to be free. We face the same fate in Iraq. The Japanese and the Germans both lost a war in which they sought to subjugate others. It is not merely a test of wills, it is a matter of what motivates you and feeds your will -- the will to be free tends to prevail.
