Kerry's comments were on point (it was a question about gays), Cheney's daughter is a public figure (she is a spokesperson for a gay & lesbian group) and Kerry was very supportive of her.

To SCHIEFFER's question: "Do you believe homosexuality is a choice?"

KERRY: "We're all God's children, Bob. And I think if you were to talk to Dick Cheney's daughter, who is a lesbian, she would tell you that she's being who she was, she's being who she was born as."

Why would anyone be upset by that answer? I mean other than the homophobes.

My personal view is this was one of the dumb and irrelevant questions asked last night. Why is this part of the National debate when we have pressing issues of war and the economy?

A couple of other dumb questions:

"I would like to ask you, what part does your faith play on your policy decisions?"

The answer should be one word: NONE. Unfortunately that can't be said in politics today.

And another dumb question:

"I'd like to ask each of you, what is the most important thing you've learned from these strong women?"

How about questions on the trade deficit, weakening US dollar, energy, the environment, emergency interest rates ... issues that matter.
