Economic motivation is the base. I don't think anyone wants to draw the lines between bin laden and his political agenda. He is the mysterious guy that vanished into thin air. No one has to worry about him. Maybe the Saudis want us to think he is a threat to them. Doesn't matter since the election is the only thing that anyone wants to discuss. No one will give the time of day to discuss the dubious intentions of the terrorists in the Middle East.

Personally, I am throwing out some ideas to see where they go. Sure, they are coming from the conservative side. However, when you enter a conflict with an Islamic mass ot terrorists that practices suicide bombings, it may behoove you to think about the conflict from both sides. The little voice inside me that is getting nervous about the potential truth about the conspiracy of the Arabs is just as important as the little voice inside you that questions the US decision to go to war against Saddam.
