It's not religion that keeps the store closed on a day of rest. It's the unions who fight to ensure their members get their day off.

<That's because we have freedom of religion here.>

CB, Freedom from religion is what's really needed. Appearing in a "Ten Commandments" courtroom, it would be sensible to carry a bible and make praying movements from time to time and talk to God at judicious moments and claim a personal friendship with the big fella.

The number of religious conversions in prison is amazing. Those conversions certainly help in early release! Realizing the bad ways of one's early incorporation is very wise and finding the Lord is great proof of taking a new path.

<In the US, nobody puts you in jail nor gives you a fine if you do business on a religious holiday.>

Ahem, in Pennsylvania, when I lived there, one could not buy alcohol of any kind on Sunday.

No jail, no fine, but no open shops either.

Lots of state religion in that one, too, but it is set in the late 17th-early 18th century, when people were fighting to the death over religion.

We don't do that here anymore, we started this country to get away from all that.

No, it is better for the economy to take it offshore. Hey, maybe an imperialism for oil deal will work.
