If I were their daughter I would have let sleeping dogs lie....Stop all ready Mom and Dad. The whole country knows I am a Lesbian. Don't make it an issue.

The question is one of nexus. If Cheney feels his personal experience is relevant to the campaign, that's one thing. But Kerry has no personal tie to Cheney's daughter! It was totally inappropriate for him to have mentioned this and is nothing more than a typical liberal political dirty trick.

I think that you are right. The gay issue could have been discussed without bringing in Cheney's daughter's name. It was in fact brought up during the VP debates as we all know.

However, in defense of what happened, I think that it would have been best for Dick and Lynn to have just ignored it. It was not done in bad taste, but it was well intended. By raising the issue to National headlines and declaring the act vulgar they are insulting their own daughter imho.

Well said.
