After my laminectomy, I had one of those braces for a while, and when I leaned forward, it looked something like that. I don't know why, in that case, the WH would lie. I should think they'd say something like, "The president was clearing brush at the ranch and tore a muscle. On the advice of his physician, he's resting the muscle by wearing a back-supporting brace." I would, if I were a PR person asked to explain what that is the president is wearing. I wouldn't deny it was there. Even on this thread, the posters stop short of that assertion. Yes, I remember our conversation about the WWII detention camps of innocent Japanese families, American citizens all, complete with the looting and confiscation of their belongings, homes, businesses. There is nothing on earth that man has done to man there isn't someone to defend. A while back, I remember somebody on SI remarking that the Inquisition wasn't all that bad.
