My mother once bought a Ford station wagon (long time ago) that had the letters on the trunk out of sequence. The rear ID on the car read DORF. The car was a dud, the DORF was just the tip off. The dealer was intransigent until she had pictures in the local paper of the DORF. The dealer bought the car back from her and she bought a Lincoln.

I had a client a while back that consulted on Ford's retirement funds. As a long term Detroiter, I have believed that the huge retirement plan alone could sink any of the majors. 30 and Out has been a huge problem for them. Does it still exist? MP

<<The remaining employees (a lot less than in years past) are very skilled and good people>>

I don't doubt it for a second....and if their management could see beyond their own noses, they'd be skillfully building hybrids topping 50 mpg's on a whole range of vehicles. But alas, management sucks and the pension bomb will be the final straw....<NG>
