Yes, that was in the works. Whatever the reasons, the attack was coming. Campaigns laced with accusations of being gay, or too gay-friendly, are a favorite of Rove's. But that only works if it is a dirty little secret. Now it is in the light and I don't think any such campaign could work with Kerry except for that segment who would already vote for Bush for the reason of the Amendment. I don't think Kerry is one to mess with in such a way. They've worked hard to smear his wife in many ways. Bush might not have mentioned her, but the campaign has worked hard to slur her. And it all comes down to Bush/Rove.

I think it is great that Ms Cheney stepped off the bus with her family today. An irony, perhaps. Here she'd been in the shadows, now she is with her family where she belongs. It is good to have the pride in her in the light, where it belongs.
