And people will believe it. I read an article the other day called "An American in London." If the reactions she described are common it is very scary stuff.

Fits in with the kerry doctrine.

First, it must a "nuisance".

Then, it can become a "fantasy".

The families of 3000 dead New Yorkers will enjoy that line of thinking.

So the attempted coupdetat of Tony Blair has started. Kind of hard to figure out what they can achieve, the Labour Government was the left of center party (of course Maggie Thatcher sort of put england on the entrepreneur evil capitalism path and Tony Blair pulled them to the middle and continued those evil capitalist pro business programs).

The Conservatives are the right of center party and were even more hawkish on the subject of killing terrorists. I once visited London and saw some Tories heaping praise on Tony Blair for Iraq on BBC that sort of surprised me.

Of course one could suppose, in a spirit of political opportunism, the tories might today suddenly find their social conscience and become peaceniks, but that's kind of hard to imagine. Maggie would have their hides.

Of course, there is always a possible leadership challenge from the remnants of the loony left in the labour party too, but the british having seen the fruits of evil capitalism take root and enjoying historic lows in unemployment with a booming economy are unlikely to go back to the failed policies of the past.
