Don't you remember in Latin America the "Yankee Go Home" written in the walls? It was because there was no Internet then. People all over the world are much more clever than you warrant. They simply take anyhthing that's good and spit what is bad. Rock music blue jeans, Hollywood, fast food and such. But that doesn't mean they take Americanism that is sold and force fed to the red necks wholesale inside the US. Be careful when you say americans live interesting lives, people watch Oprah and baseball.
