That's a good point. In a documentary called The Fog or War from a few years ago (it's a series of interviews with Robert Macnamara, sec of defense for Kennedy and Johnson) he makes the point that if you can't convince your allies of the worthiness of a military campaign, its probably not a good one. I'm not sure if that is absolutely correct, but it certainly makes some sense.


It makes very good sense to me.
