Mary Cheney has handled the crossfire with dignity, choosing to discuss her concerns with her family privately and stay out of the limelight. That's a choice to respect.

Until this morning...it seems that she has given into the political side of the matter by saying on TV that she was offended. Maybe she is the victim of steve's (and her parents') shame.

probably before you were born
Definitely not.

For years the left tried to sell us that we were a product of our environment as an excuse to justify their inappropriate behaviour. Now the latest game is to tell us it's in our genes; we were born that way. No different than it has always been when you were a child telling your mom, "everyone else is doing it mom" as your excuse for your poor behaviour choices.

The politics are simple regarding Mary Cheney. The two johns' attacks are no different than when people try to make political hay when Colin Powell or Condoleezza Rice has a disagreement with Bush. Bush doesn't have a problem with Mary Cheney. Dick Cheney doesn't have a problem with Mary Cheney. Powell, Rice, Cheney, and Bush are all on the same team even with their different positions on many issues.

The only problem that exists is an imaginary one created by a political party that has lost the last two federal elections...
