The rice was in Kerry's posterior, hopefully it was removed after the incident in Vietnam. As he himself admitted it didn't cause him to lose any service time, nor did any of his other superficial wounds. Kerry said almost those exact words during an interview with the Boston Globe. P.S. The senator was destroying barrels of rice to keep them out of VietCong hands. He stood too close, lobbed a grenade which resulted in rice embedded in Kerry's derriere.
