The KKK wants Bush elected. Byrd as a youth 55 years ago joined the KKK for one year then quickly quit. In those days the KKK was not considered as obviously wrong as they have been since the 1960's. The rightwing has been using that as "proof" that liberals are really racists. It's one more sack of manure from the rightwing that they want you to buy, along with "war heros are traitors". And notice Byrd was right about Iraq after all. Another reason the rightwing wants to smear him.
