I had some EDV.To for a while-never went anywhere but still I believe it is a relatively decreased (decreased but still high<g>) risk way of speculating on the Canadian junior gold world.

They take positions in and trade juniors, some which are obscure, presumably at advantageous terms; they also pay a dividend.

finance.yahoo.com

Might just buy a little to round out a few rough edges in the portfolios.

Globe says Endeavour Mining has its day in the sun

2004-07-12 07:06 ET - In the News

The Globe and Mail reports in its Saturday edition that when the junior mining sector began to pick up speed last year, one of the biggest winners was Endeavour Mining Capital. The Globe's Wendy Stueck writes that publicly traded merchant banking arm of Endeavour Financial, Endeavour Mining Capital, had acquired stakes in companies such as Wheaton River Minerals and Northern Orion Resources before shares in those companies began to climb, propelled by soaring commodity prices and renewed interest in the mining sector. Holdings in those and other miners helped Endeavour Mining nearly double its revenue and profit in 2003, its first full operating year. But while the company has flourished since it was incorporated in 2002, it may have more difficulty repeating that performance now that more capital is flowing into the sector and some promising ventures are past the fledgling phase. Haywood Securities analyst Kerry Smith said he expects Endeavour Mining will have to look at earlier-stage ventures as the mining market evolves. The firm took on a higher profile in 2001, when former Yorkton Securites chairman Frank Giustra chose it as the vehicle for his return to the mining industry.
