That I certainly agree with. I believe the thought would be, we have four finals years; there won't be a re-election; go balls to the wall. I would hope that there would be at least some Republican members of the Senate that would break ranks at that point There may be more hope than reason in that position. [I think the House is a hopeless organization and I would support a Constitutional amendment to abolish it. <s>]

Our current military is already stretched to the limits. You can move some troops around but there just isn't enough to do any additional major military escapades.

It's also possible that China could make a move on Taiwan. I don't think they will as they are far more patient than the US, but making a move on Taiwan would be one of opportunity as the US is occupied elsewhere.
