kholt, We can only wait until everything comes out of the wash. If the troops did not want to go on a mission because their equipment was dead lined, that is a military affair, and has no place in stateside papers. The military is quite able to handle it's own affairs without the media, or politicians, getting in the way. That is the way it was done in WW2, and that war was a resounding success. Every since the media, and politicians got involve in war, new dangers, and flawed, directives, came to bear, which hampered the war effort, and put our troops in more danger than necessary. Viet Nam is a clear example of that sort of harmful intervention. I didn't make the incident, regardless of what really happened, a political thing, but the media did, and that was to embarrass Bush, if at all possible. They could have, and should have, not printed the event. Such things hamper our military in achieving their missions. Doing so, they gave the enemy a boost, and will, in all probability, cause more deaths of American military personnel. Mom's have a habit of sticking their noses where they don't belong. Her Son was safe, so she should have left it at that. Her Son is an adult, and doesn't need, or probably want, his Mother getting involved in his affairs. His Mom, evidently doesn't know when to cut the apron strings. I know I would have told my Mom, to mind her own business, and leave me to mine.
