I have fond memories of the 70s as well that included gas prices...well at least gas lines.

I actually had one client (I printed fashion pictures for her in her basement darkroom) who would pay me to wait in the gas line with her Mercedes. I remember waiting in line one day with the car and a guy I knew from college starts crossing the street, he's waving and yelling hello to me. Now this was a guy who never had the time of day for me back in school. He had gotten a job at a fancy advertizing agency and he thought all us art photography types were the dregs so it surprised me a little that he was being so friendly now. As he approached the car it dawned on me, I powered down the window and flatly announced, "It's not my car."
