That's correct. This is well known among trial lawyers, a very rich, very powerful lobby. Well, personally, I am not very rich, nor very powerful, but then I don't run cases the way these guys run cases. But I used to work for firms that did.

John Grisham writes about them. There really are counties in Mississippi where the trial lawyers try as many cases as they can, because the payouts are so big and the judges so friendly.

Other places, too. Fairfax is NOT one of them. Coincidentally, they tend to be places that vote "blue."
